El Tequileño was founded in 1959 by legendary tequila industry pioneer Don Jorge Salles Cuervo. Having produced tequila for Cuervo since 1941, he launched his own brand on New Year’s Day 1959, naming it El Tequileño as a tribute to the town of Tequila and its spirited culture.
El Tequileño quickly gained prominence throughout the state of Jalisco, earning a reputation for producing high-quality, prestigious tequila crafted to satisfy even the most discerning palates.
