Augustijn

Augustijn beer has been brewed by Augustinian monks since 1295 at their monastery in Ghent. In the Middle Ages, monks brewed beer as a safer alternative to contaminated water. In 1987, the Augustinians partnered with the Van Steenberge Brewery, led by Jozef Van Steenberge, who revitalized Augustijn with secondary fermentation in the bottle. The beer’s historic yeast strains give it a mild, smooth, and rich flavor. Augustijn Blonde is a full-bodied, fruity, and hoppy amber blonde with malty notes, a hint of vanilla, and a smooth, slightly bitter finish.
